Gateway Arch Engineering Competition 2019

Gateway Arch Engineering Competition is an engineering and design competition held by the Gateway Arch in Late September through November. The Gateway Arch poses an actual problem that the Arch faces to High Schools and Colleges from the St. Louis Area. Design Teams from the schools create a solution and present to a panel of judges.
2019 was my sophomore year and my first year as apart of the team, or any design team. The problem was how are disable Arch visitors getting to the top of the Gateway Arch. The Elevators are to small and the stair to and from the elevators are abnormal in both length and size. My team, CBC's Gateway Arch Design Team, won first place in the High School division in 2019. 2020 was my junior year and my second year as apart of the team. But was my first year leading the team. The problem was a drainage issue found on the arch grounds. My team, CBC's Gateway Arch Design Team, did not win this year. Click the link for the

2021 was my senior year and my first last as apart of the team. This year, again, we were helping disabled guests enjoy the Arch, but with the added challenge of the outdoor conditions. Technical Drafting and CAD Drawings

I have worked in the following Three Dimensional Computer Aided Design (CAD) programs or Design programs to make Technical Drafts and 3D Models.

Inventor
TinkerCAD
AutoCAD
Illustrator
My senior year I approached my Engineering Professor, Mr. Joseph Henken, about taking a practicum course where my education would be more specified. He agreed and informed me that CBC had just gotten a new Wind Tunnel. I would set it up, test it and in the process, learn aerodynamics. Aerodynamics is something I had asked him about my junior year. Recently (Fall 2021) I have been in contact with St. Louis University and Clemson, working with their aerospace program and wind tunnel research professors to find testable questions that we could use for test on the CBC Wind Tunnel.
